SafeMaps Safety Disclaimer

Public-facing safety limitations

SafeMaps by MindTales | Operated by Mindtales by Nyra Pte. Ltd., Singapore

Final approved policy | Last revised: 29 October 2026 | Effective upon publication

1. Purpose of SafeMaps

SafeMaps gathers voluntary student perceptions of where they feel safe or unsafe in school. It helps authorized school personnel identify patterns and areas that may merit attention. It is a preventive, zone-based safety intelligence tool.

2. Feedback is unverified

A student-selected zone, concern or critical signal is not proof that an incident occurred, a person acted unlawfully or a location is objectively unsafe. Information may be incomplete, inaccurate, duplicated, outdated or deliberately misleading.

3. Not for emergencies

SafeMaps is not an emergency hotline, incident-investigation service, law-enforcement channel or replacement for school safeguarding procedures. It does not dispatch emergency responders or guarantee real-time human monitoring. For immediate threats, contact a trusted adult, school safety official or local emergency services through established channels.

4. Critical concerns and notifications

Certain concerns, including dangerous objects or weapons, physical fighting or bullying, may be highlighted to authorized school personnel for review. Such signals are unverified. Notifications may be delayed, unavailable or missed because of connectivity, device permissions, service interruptions or other factors. Never rely on SafeMaps as the only way to raise or respond to an urgent concern.

5. Schools retain responsibility

Schools and relevant authorities are responsible for supervision, safeguarding, assessing reports, investigating where appropriate and deciding on interventions. SafeMaps outputs should not be the sole basis for disciplinary or other adverse action against an identifiable person.

6. Privacy limitations

The student form does not request names, contact details or precise GPS location. Even so, combinations of school, grade, gender, time and selected concerns may create a risk of indirect identification. Authorized users should handle information carefully and avoid unnecessary disclosure.

7. No safety guarantee

SafeMaps cannot guarantee that hazards will be detected, that reports are accurate, that every notification reaches an intended recipient, or that harm will be prevented. Schools must maintain their own safety and emergency-response processes.

8. Related policies and contact

Beta service status

SafeMaps is currently offered as a beta service. Features, availability, functionality, and reporting or notification capabilities may change as the platform is tested and improved. Beta status does not limit rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
